Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Material Certification Assistant for material certifications, compliance documentation, and project records for construction projects. This position plays a key role in ensuring all materials used on projects meet contract specifications, state and federal requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, experience with construction documentation, and the ability to work closely with project managers, suppliers, and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, review, track, and maintain material certifications and supporting documentation for construction projects
- Verify material compliance with project specifications, DOT requirements, and applicable standards
- Organize and submit required documentation to project owners, agencies, and contractors in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems for certifications and related records
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, project managers, field supervisors, and quality control personnel to obtain missing or corrected documentation
- Monitor project deadlines and ensure all required certifications are submitted before project closeout
- Review invoices, packing slips, and delivery records to ensure consistency with certifications
- Communicate with state agencies and contractors regarding documentation requirements and corrections
- Generate reports and provide status updates on outstanding certifications and project compliance

Our fleet consists primarily of medium-duty trucks and construction equipment, and we’re looking for someone dependable who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

Skills/Qualifications:
Shop employees will be expected to lift/handle/install a variety of tools, parts, fasteners, etc. Weights of these items range from almost no weight, for some fasteners, up to 120 pounds, for some brake drums. Lifts include; Ground to waist, waist to ground, ground to shoulder or above, shoulder or above to ground.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain service records and work orders
- Keep shop and tools organized and safe
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on diesel trucks or construction equipment
- CDL is a plus (not required)
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently
- Strong work ethic and reliability
